Indoor: Finished seventh in the shot put at the Reveille Invitational with a throw of 39--11.5 (12.18) ...
2017-18 (RS Freshman)
Indoor: Set a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles and the high jump at the Howie Ryan Invitational with a time of 8.90 on the track and going over the bar at 1.85m (6-0.75)...Completed his first career heptathlon at the Houston Invitational where he finished fourth with 4,419 points. Set career highs in the overall competition as well as in the long jump (6.72m), pole vault (3.40m), 1,000-meter run (3:07.37) and 60-meter dash (7.37).
Outdoor: Competed in four outdoor meets for the Cougars in 2018…Completed his first decathlon at The American Outdoor Championships, where he finished 12th with 5,559 points…Set personal bests in each of the high jump, long jump, 100-meter dash, shot put, 400-meter dash, pole vault and 1,500-meter run at The American Championships.

Four-year letterwinner for coach Aaron Troyer at Clear Brook High School…Was a member of two distric championship teams…won the Steve Bledsoe High Point Award…Set Clear Brook records in the long jump (23-2) and high jump (6-5)…Also competed in football for three seasons as a wide receiver.

Son of Wayde and Julie Barksdale…Has one brother, Jake…Won the Outstanding Student Award and Superintendent’s Scholar in high school…was a member of National Honor Society and Safe School Ambassador at Clear Brook…Enjoys playing any sport in his free time…Aspires to be a marketing manager after his track career.
