PALM HARBOR, Fla. – The University of Houston Men's Golf program opens the postseason when it tees off Sunday morning in the First Round of the American Athletic Conference Championships.
The Cougars will compete on the 7,125-yard, par-71 Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort with 18 holes each day through Tuesday.

THE LINEUP
Under the direction of Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke, the Cougars will be represented by sophomore Alexander Frances, senior Matt Williams, junior Logan Young, freshman Braxton Watkins and junior Zach Tracy.
This season, Williams leads the Cougars with a 72.52 scoring average and 14 rounds of par or better. Competing in his first season at Houston, Young ranks second on the team with a 73.00 average, while Frances is a close third at 73.10
TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete against USF, SMU, UCF, Memphis, ECU, Cincinnati, UConn, Temple and Wichita State. The winner of the Championships receives the league's automatic bid to NCAA Regional play.
PAIRINGS
For Sunday's First Round, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from ECU beginning at 6:30 a.m. (CDT).
Tracy begins the day for the Cougars off No. 1 at 6:30 a.m. (CDT), Sunday, with Watkins (6:39 a.m. CDT), Young (6:47 a.m. CDT), Williams (6:57 a.m. CDT) and Frances (7:04 a.m. CDT) following

Following the American Athletic Conference Championships, the Cougars will learn their postseason fate during the NCAA Selection Show, set to air at 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, on Golf Channel.
