LAREDO, Texas – University of Houston junior Logan Young closed out the Border Olympics Final Round with a 69 to lead the Cougars on the final day and tie for 10^th overall at 4-under 212 on Tuesday afternoon.

Competing on the 7,204-yard, par-72 course at Laredo Country Club, Young began his day off No. 16. Following six straight pars, the Normangee, Texas, native made two birdies in a 3-hole stretch at No. 4 and at No. 6.

Despite his lone bogey of the day on the par-5 ninth hole, Young rallied with three straight pars and then made eagle on the 570-yard, par-5 13^th hole.

After shooting 66-67 in Monday's first two rounds, sophomore Alexander Frances tied for sixth overall at 6-under 210 to lead the Cougars and record his fourth straight Top-20 finish.

Senior Matt Williams posted a 72 in Tuesday's Final Round and tied for 16^th at 214. Sophomore Andrew Gibson and freshman Braxton Watkins tied for 39^th at 219 while senior Zach Tracy and junior Alex Isakson tied for 73^rd at 228. Junior George Gardner tied for 88^th at 233.

As a team, the Cougars finished seventh with a score of even-par 864.

No. 20 Arkansas State captured the team championship with a score of 835 to finish 15 strokes ahead of Sam Houston State. UT Rio Grande Valley (853), No. 45 Campbell (854), UTSA (857) and ULM (859) rounded out the Top-6 leaders.

Arkansas State's Zan Luka Stirn earned medalist honors at 12-under 204 to finish three strokes in front of Oral Roberts' Cody Burros. Alvaro Hernandez (UTRGV) and Matthew Cole (Arkansas State) tied for third at 208.

UP NEXT
Following the Border Olympics, the Cougars will compete in the Valspar Collegiate Invitational at Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla. on March 17-19.

From there, the team will travel to compete at the 3M Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. On April 6-7.
