HOUSTON â€" The University of Houston Men's Golf program will compete in 10 regular-season tournaments in preparation for postseason play during the 2016-17 season, Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke announced Wednesday.
The Cougars will compete as far east as Florida and South Carolina and as far west as Hawai'i with four team tournaments in the state of Texas during the 2016-17 season.
FALL SCHEDULE
The fall schedule tees off Sept. 23-25 when the Cougars compete at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate at Mirabel Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The Cougars close out the fall slate in grand fashion as they compete at the Kaanapali Collegiate Classic at Kaanapali Golf Club in Lahaina, Maui, Hawai'i, on Nov. 4-6. It will be the first time Houston has competed in Hawai'i since February 2004.
Individually, junior Michael Perras ends the Cougars' fall campaign with an individual appearance at the Western Refining College All-America Classic on Nov. 12-13 at El Paso Country Club in El Paso, Texas. The Deer Park, Texas, native earned his invitation after receiving PING All-America Honorable Mention honors a year ago.

ABOUT THE COUGARS
The Cougars return 11 letterwinners from last year's squad, which won five team championships, five individual crowns, competed in NCAA Regional play for the fifth straight season and advanced to the NCAA Championships for the third consecutive year.
Perras led the Cougars with a 71.62 scoring average and 22 rounds of par or better a year ago. He captured the title at the HBU Husky Intercollegiate to open the fall and became the second Cougar in school history to post three straight rounds in the 60s during NCAA postseason play on the way to winning the individual championship at the NCAA Franklin Regional.
For his impressive performances, Perras was an All-American Athletic Conference and PING All-Central Region Team member and was named PING All-America Honorable Mention.
Matt Dunn, Matt Scobie and Emmett Oh will compete as seniors in their final collegiate seasons in 2016-17. Scobie finished third among the Cougars with a 72.50 scoring average a year ago despite being hampered by a foot injury, while Dunn earned medalist honors at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic.
