Cougars take on Southwest competition at Texas A&M
HOUSTON – The Houston Cross Country team will head to College Station, Friday morning, to compete at the Texas A&M Invitational.

Coming off senior Claire Meyer's decisive win at Lamar's Early Bird Opener on the women's side and a men's team victory that netted two top three finishers, the Cougars take on a new slate of competition.
On the women's side, Claire Meyer looks to lead the competition for the second straight meet. In the Lamar Early Bird Opener, she won the four-kilometer race with a 15 second lead over the next best time. The women will race along Texas A&M's 5k course.
Senior Kelly-Ann Beckford and junior Rachel Goebel will make their season debut in the 5k race this Friday.
The men, coming off a win in the opener, look to continue their dominance on the young season. Led by seniors Brandon Seagreaves and Branch Cox, the team will run the 8k race at Texas A&M.
Freshmen Michael Archie, Alan Bonner, Aaron Crittenden, Patrick Flowers and Derek Waite will run their first collegiate 8k race.
Along with the host, Texas A&M, Houston will compete against Arkansas (men), East Central University, North Texas, Oklahoma Baptist, Sam Houston, TAMU-Commerce and TCU on Friday.
