
Hite, Miller Lead Cougars at Arturo Barrios Invitational

Men finish 10th, women place 13th overall on Friday
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – For a third-straight meet, redshirt freshman Addison Hite and freshman Zac Miller led the Cougars on Friday at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at the Watts Cross Country Course.
The men placed 10th with 333 points in the 8k with Miller, junior Patrick Flowers, junior Aaron Crittenden, sophomore Remay Abraha and sophomore Caden Thurman as the five scorers for the Cougars.
For a third consecutive meet, Miller was the first Cougar to cross the finish line and 18th overall finisher with a personal best time of 23:39.9. Flowers also recorded a personal best time of 24:26.4 for 84th place, followed by Crittenden in 90th place at 24:30.2
Abraha was the fourth Cougar to finish the race at 24:30.9 for 91st place and Thurman secured the final points of the morning with a 117th place finish at 24:48.3.
The women's squad concluded the meet placing 13th overall in the 6k with 400 points. Hite, sophomore Cadence Patterson, sophomore Lily Campos, freshman Sophia Nguyen and sophomore Julia Shimel were the top-five finishers for Houston.
Hite led the Cougars with her time of 20:40.7 to place 37th overall while Patterson followed in 50th with a personal best time of 20:55.4.
Campos finished the race with a personal best time of 21:49.2 for 102nd and Nguyen crossed the finish line in 21:58.6 to place 112th. Shimel was the final Cougar to score with a 126th place finish and a time of 22:08.2
