Soccer Welcomes Southeastern Louisiana for Home Opener

Cougars home slate kicks off 1 p.m. Sunday against the Lions
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Soccer program (0-0-1) opens its 2023 home slate at 1 p.m., Sunday against Southeastern Louisiana at the Carl Lewis International Complex.
The game will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with Matt Pedersen and Alex Parra calling the action. Live stats will also be available here.
Fans in attendance will receive H-Town Hustle laptop stickers and schedule posters while supplies last.
Fans can purchase tickets by clicking here, or mobile tickets can also be purchased at game time at the ticket booth located at Schroeder Park (baseball), adjacent to the Carl Lewis International Complex.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
The Cougars started the 2023 campaign with a 0-0 draw Thursday night against Washington at Husky Soccer Stadium in Seattle.
Goalkeeper Olivia Dietrich earned her first collegiate start with four saves against the Huskies to earn the shutout.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
Southeastern Louisiana (1-0) opened the 2023 season on Friday with a 2-0 victory against UTRGV with goals from Emma Jones and Kelsey Fuller.
The Lions return 17 letter winners from last season's team, including Mya Guillory, who led the team in goals with six.
This marks the first time in program history that Houston faces Southeastern Louisiana.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will hit the road for their third match of the season as they face Stephen F. Austin at 7 p.m., Thursday in Nacogdoches, Texas. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
Houston will close out its August home slate on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 1 p.m., as it hosts Tarleton State for Dads & Daughters Day.
