Cougars conclude two-game homestand
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Basketball team will conclude its two-game homestand when the squad faces off against Temple on Wednesday night at the Fertitta Center. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. and the game can be viewed on ESPN3.
GAME NOTES
COUGAR FAST BREAK
• Houston enters Wednesday's game with an 8-7 overall record this season after closing out its non-conference slate at 7-7 and opening conference play with a win over Memphis
• Houston has four players averaging double-digits this season led by Dorian Branch with 12.3 points per game, she is followed by Tatyana Hill who is averaging 11.7 points per game. Dymond Gladney contributes 10.8 points per game followed by Julia Blackshell-Fair providing 10.6 points per game.
• Houston is averaging 65.5 points per game on 40.1 percent shooting from the field and a 26.6 percent mark from beyond the 3-point line. The Cougars allow 66.7 points per game on defense while letting opponents shoot 40.6 percent and 31.6 percent from the field and beyond the arc, respectively
.• Hill leads Houston on the glass, pulling down 6.6 rebounds per contest. • Houston is a tough team to beat on the glass, averaging over 15 offensive boards per game and 50th nationally in rebounds with 587 this season
• Houston forces 17.9 turnovers per game, with 15 or more forced turnovers in 14 of its 15 games this season. Under Coach Hughey, Houston has been one of the most active defensive teams in the country over the past two seasons. The Cougars are experts at protecting the rim, entering the game ranked 55th nationally in blocks (60) and 90th in Blocks Per Game (4.0).

• Temple is averaging 70.0 points per game on 39.8 percent shooting from the field and 32.7 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
• Temple enters its 12th season under Head Coach Tonya Cardoza and is led in scoring by Mia Davis who is averaging 19.0 points per game. Davis also leads the Owls on the boards with 10.3 rebounds per game, as Ashley Jones leads the squad with 42 assists this season.
