Women's Basketball Concludes Season with Loss Against BYU

TK Pitts posts double-double, Shun'teria Anumele scores season high 17 points
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Houston concluded the 2025-26 season with a 76-66 loss to BYU in the First Round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament at T-Mobile Center on Wednesday afternoon.
Houston (7-23) was led by sophomore guard Shun'teria Anumele, who scored 17 points and finished 11-for-11 from the free throw line. In her final collegiate game, senior guard TK Pitts recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Jade Jones added 11 points.
BYU (21-10) advances to face Utah at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, in the second round. Olivia Hamlin led BYU with 16 points.
The first quarter was a tightly contested, with BYU taking a one-point lead. BYU held the advantage for most of the second quarter before Houston scored five points in the final two minutes to tie the game at 29 at halftime.
After scoring 29 total points in the first half, BYU added 27 in the third quarter while Houston struggled offensively.
Trailing by 12 entering the fourth, Houston used an 11-2 run to pull within three. BYU answered with a 14-4 run to build its largest lead at 74-61. Houston continued to attack, but BYU secured the 76-66 victory.
