Houston Primed For Weekend Meeting With Tulane

Cougars wrap-up two-game road swing
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Basketball team heads to the Big Easy for a weekend matchup with American Athletic Conference foe Tulane.

COUGAR FAST BREAK
• Houston enters Saturday's game with a 10-11 overall record this season, including a 3-4 mark in conference play.
• Houston has four players averaging double-digits this season led by Dymond Gladney with 11.7 points per game, followed by Tatyana Hill and Dorian Branch with 11.4 points per game. Julia Blackshell-Fair is the fourth Cougar in double-figures with 10.7 points per game.
• Houston is averaging 63.7 points per game on 38.9 percent shooting from the field and a 26.1 percent mark from beyond the 3-point line. The Cougars allow 68.1 points per game on defense while letting opponents shoot 41.9 percent and 31.6 percent from the field and beyond the arc, respectively.
• Hill leads Houston on the glass, pulling down 6.2 rebounds per contest. • Houston is a force to be reckoned with on the boards this season, averaging 37.4 rebounds per game including over 15 offensive boards per game.
• Houston forces 18.5 turnovers per game, with 15 or more forced turnovers in 18 of its 21 games this season. Under Coach Hughey, Houston has been one of the most active defensive teams in the country over the past two seasons. The Cougars are experts at protecting the rim, entering the game ranked 110th nationally in blocks (73) and 145th in Blocks Per Game (3.5).

• Tulane is averaging 61.0 points per game on 39.0 percent shooting from the field and 32.9 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
• The Green Wave enters its 26th season under Head Coach Lisa Stockton and is led in scoring by Krystal Freeman who is averaging 14.3 points per game. Freeman leads the Green Wave on the boards with 7.4 rebounds per game, as Kaila Anderson leads the squad with 51 assists each this season.
