PEARLAND, Texas – The University of Houston Men's Golf program closes its regular season when it tees off at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic on Monday morning at Golfcrest Country Club.
The Cougars will play 36 holes beginning with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start Monday on the 7,254-yard, par-72 course with the final 18 holes slated for Tuesday morning.

THE LINEUP
Under the direction of Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke, the Cougars will be represented by sophomore Alexander Frances, senior Matt Williams, freshman Braxton Watkins, junior Logan Young and sophomore Andrew Gibson.
Senior Carson Cavner and juniors Zach Tracy, George Gardner, Alex Isakson and Sam Elkington will compete as individuals.

ABOUT the COUGARS
This season, Williams leads Houston with a 72.54 scoring average and 12 rounds of par or better. The Calgary, Alberta, native has posted two Top-20 finishes in his last four tournaments and tied for second at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational early in the spring season.
Competing in his first season with the Cougars, junior Logan Young has posted a pair of Top-20 finishes in his last four tournaments and enjoyed a season-best 10th place finish at the Border Olympics on March 11-12.
Frances stands third among the Cougars with a 73.21 average but ranks second on the team with 10 rounds of par or better. The Stege, Denmark, native joins Williams as the only Cougars to compete in all 10 team tournaments this season.
TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete against Abilene Christian, Arkansas State, Denver, George Washington, Houston Baptist, Lamar, McNeese, New Mexico State, Texas State, UTA, UTSA, Wichita State and co-hosts Rice and Sam Houston State.
PAIRINGS
For Monday's first two rounds, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Arkansas State and UTSA
Gibson will start the day for the Cougars off No. 3 with Young (first group off No. 2), Watkins (second group off No. 2), Williams (first group off No. 1) and Frances (second group off No 1) following.
Isakson begins in the first group off No. 18 with Gardner (second group off No. 18), Tracy (No. 17), Elkington (first group off No. 15) and Cavner (No. 14) following.
UP NEXT
Following the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, the Cougars enter the postseason when they tee off at the American Athletic Conference Championships on April 21-23 on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Fla.
