Houston Set to Face Oklahoma in Saturday Clash

Cougars face Sooners in Saturday meeting
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Basketball team will remain in Houston for a weekend meeting with the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday at the Fertitta Center. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.

•Saturday's meeting is the third all-time between the two teams in a series that began during the 1980-81 season.
•Houston trails the all-time series 2-0, after falling the Sooners on Jan. 20, 1981 in a 66-67 decision.
COUGAR FASTBREAK
•Houston enters Saturday's game with a 2-2 overall record this season after most recently defeating HBU at the Fertitta Center.
• Houston has three players averaging double-digits this season led by Jasmyne Harris with 14.8 points per game, she is followed by Tatyana Hill who secured a career-high 19 points against HBU and is averaging 13.3 points per game. Dorian Branch is third in scoring on the team providing 11.3 points per game.
• Houston is averaging 67.2 points per game on 38.7 percent shooting from the field and a 24.4 percent mark from beyond the 3-point line. The Cougars allow 68.8 points per game on defense while letting opponents shoot 38.6 percent and 35.7 percent from the field and beyond the arc, respectively.
• Hill leads Houston on the glass, pulling down 7.5 rebounds per contest
• Houston has forced 79 turnovers by its opponents this season, with three consecutive games with 20 or more forced turnovers and at least 10 steals in two of its four games this season. Under Coach Hughey, Houston has been one of the most active defensive teams in the country over the past two seasons. The Cougars enter the game ranked 94th nationally in steals (39) and 101st in steals per game (9.8) and 89th in turnovers forced (19.75). Houston has forced 20 or more turnovers in every game this season and racked up 10 or more steals in two of its last four.

• Oklahoma enters Saturday's contest with an 3-1 overall record. The Sooners most recently defeated to Stephen F. Austin in Norman in a 75-62 decision.
•Oklahoma is averaging 85.5 points per game on 45.5 percent shooting from the field and 37.9 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
• Oklahoma enters its 24th season under Head Coach Sherri Coale and is led in scoring by Ana Llanusa who is averaging 21.5 points per game. Madi Williams leads the Sooners on the boards with 11 rebounds per game, as Kamryn Lemon leads the squad with 15 assists this season.
