2003- Indoor: Conference USA champion in the high jump with a leap of 5'7 3/4"; was the C-USA runner-up in the league's first-ever pentathlon with 3,726 despite competing with an injured foot.
2002- Indoor: Won the high jump with a season-best leap of 5-8 at the Leonard Hilton Memorial; also was the high jump winner at the UH/RunSport All-Comers meet; finished 10th in the high jump at the Conference USA Indoor Championships; finished seventh in the long jump at the Southwest Invitational and Leonard Hilton Memorial
Outdoor: Earned All-American honors with a sixth-place finish in the heptathlon with a season-best 5,337 points at the NCAA Championships; won the heptathlon at the Conference USA Championships and finished second at the Texas Relays; won the high jump at the LSU Team Invitational; finished ninth in the high jump at the C-USA Outdoor meet.
Personal: Born May 1, 1983, in Las Vegas, Nev.; major is kinesiology at Houston; parents are Terrie and Floyd Franklin and Garrick and Sharon Ward; enjoys playing basketball and dancing; was a member of the National Honor Society; also recruited by Notre Dame, Rice, Texas A&M and Texas.
