Became first player in both UH and Conference USA history to win the Pitching Triple Crown and be honored as a consensus All-American.
In the summer, recorded a 0.72 ERA with 50 strikeouts in only 50.1 innings as a member of Team USA.
Limited the Cuban National Team to one run on five hits and struck out seven at the Haarlem Baseball Week.
Honored as the Most Valuable Player in the USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Series after throwing a one-hitter in the championship game of the series.
Tied school record with 13 wins and .929 winning percentage in 2002.
Set a UH single-season record with 157 strikeouts and led the nation with that total.
Honored as one of three finalists for the Rotary Smith Award, given to the nation's top collegiate players.
