- Won six matches in a row in February and March, defeating opponents from McNeese State, UTEP, Southwest Texas State, South Florida, Central Florida and Charlotte.
- Went 6-5 in the No. 1 singles spot in fall tournament play.
- Won three straight to claim the No. 1 singles title at the Houston-hosted Cougar Fall Classic in November 2002.
