Cougars take on Jayhawks at Robinson Natatorium
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team is headed to Kansas to compete against the Jayhawks at 10 a.m., Saturday at the Robinson Natatorium.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cougars rallied to take the top spot at the annual Phill Hansel Invitational at CWRC Natatorium scoring 1463 points over the three-day meet.
Junior Evelyn Entrekin scored two first place finishes in the 200-yard individual medley (1:58.36) and the 100-yard breaststroke (59.75).
Senior Virag Peter also touched the wall in first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.92), securing her first NCAA cut of the season.
Junior Michelle McLeod took the leader board in the platform competition with a score of 294.20.
The 400-yard medley relay team of sophomore Alexia Duncan, Entrekin, senior Noor El Gendy and senior Liya Goupil also finished in the top spot with a time of 3:34.99.
BIG 12 HONORS
McLeod has made waves in the conference this season taking home three Big 12 Diver of the Week awards. Her award last week marked the fourth of her career.
NCAA CUTS
Five Houston student-athletes have collected NCAA Cuts across five events. McLeod has clinched NCAA Zone Cuts in all three diving events while sophomore Caroline Roelen and freshman Maisy Woloszyn have clinched Zone Cuts in the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions.
