Cougars Close Out NCAA Zone D Diving Championships

McLeod first Cougar to qualify in all three events since 2012
COLLEGE STATION, Texas. – University of Houston Diver Michelle McLeod punched her third ticket to the NCAA Championships on Wednesday inside the Rec Center Natatorium at Texas A&M.Â

McLeod is the first Cougar to qualify for NCAA Championships in all three diving events since Julia Lonnegren in 2012. The Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada native finished the platform event in fifth with a final score of 541.95.

Sophomore Caroline Roelen finished 14th overall in the platform event with 466.20 points.Â

This is the second consecutive year Houston sends four student-athletes to the NCAA Championship. McLeod (1-meter, 3-meter, platform) will compete alongside freshman diver Maisy Woloszyn (3-meter).Â

Swimmers Virag Peter (200-yard breaststroke) and Alexia Duncan (200-yard backstroke) will accompany the divers March 18-21 in Atlanta, Ga inside the McAuley Aquatic Center.Â
