Men’s Golf Signs Dominic Green

Will compete as freshman in 2024-25 after award-winning career at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory
HOUSTON – Strake Jesuit College Preparatory product Dominic Green has signed a National Letter of Intent and will compete with the University of Houston Men's Golf program in 2024-25, Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke announced Monday afternoon.Green will compete as a freshman during the 2024-25 season and have four years of eligibility.
"We are excited to have an all-around student-athlete like Dominic join our program as a member of our Honors College. He is a young man we have followed for a long time," Dismuke said. "We have seen continued development in his game throughout his career and project him as someone who can contribute over the next four years."
Green was a three-year starter for the varsity team at Strake Jesuit for Head Coach Jeremy Dunford. As a senior in 2023-24, he helped the Crusaders rally from a 12-stroke deficit entering the Final Round to win the District championship.
He tied for fifth at the Texas Masters/IMG World Championships qualifier with a score of 1-under 171 at Brackenridge Park Golf Course after opening that tournament with a 66. Green also tied for 13th at the AJGA Junior at Palouse Ridge with a score of 210, thanks to a 68 in the First Round and a 69 in the Final Round.
As a sophomore in 2021-22, he was a member of the team which captured the District championship by 17 strokes at The Wilderness Golf Club in Lake Jackson, Texas, and finished eighth individually at that event. Green won the Eagle Pointe Challenge title with a score of 141, thanks to a 67 in the Final Round.
In addition to his achievements on the course, Green was a talented student-athlete in the classroom and the community. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the Golf Leadership Council and served as president of the Stats Club. Green also compiled more than 160 hours of community service as a high school student.
His father, Dee Green, competed for the Cougars under head coaches Dave Williams and Keith Fergus from 1986 to 1990.
