FIRST PITCH
- Houston has played in two conference tournaments in Greenville, once in 2011 while in C-USA and most recently in 2017.
- The Cougars are 1-6 all-time against Tulsa in conference tournament games and are 0-4 in the American Athletic Conference Softball Championship against the Hurricane.
- Houston has never played Wichita State or UCF in The American Softball Championship. UH would face UCF for the first time in the tourney if it beats Tulsa.
- The Cougars are 12-6 all-time in their first game of conference tournaments. UH is 4-2 all-time in it's opening game of The American Softball Championship tournament.
- The Cougars have turned 26 double plays in 2022, tied for second-most in the country. Houston is two double plays away from tying the school record (2014, '15, '18)
- Becca Schulte is one stolen base away from being Houston's third-ever 10 HR-10 SB member (13 HR-9 SB currently). She would join Holly Anderson (10-19) in 2012 and Haley Outon (22-10) also in 2012 as the only other two.
- Houston has downed two ranked opponents in 2022 and has beaten a ranked opponent each of the last seven seasons and every year under Vesely.
- The Cougars are 2-7 against Top 25 RPI teams, 3-8 against RPI 26-50, 2-7 against RPI 51-100 and 19-4-1 against RPI 100+.
- Houston put together a six-run comeback against #18 UCF on April 24, the largest comeback by the Cougars since 2018.
- Paige Hulsey tied a school record for stolen bases with a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts against Memphis on April 3.
- Hannah Todd became the first pitcher to win all three games of a series in program history winning all three games against Memphis.
- Becca Schulte hit a home run in the final game of 2020, did not play in 2021, and hit a home run in her first at-bat of 2022. Thus, Schulte hit a home run in back-to-back games spanning 23 months.
- Graduate student Becca Schulte is competing in her seventh season as a collegiate athlete. Schulte graduated high school in 2015. She is one of two known 7th-year softball players in the DI ranks.
- Houston faced four Preseason Top 25 teams in 2022, including three teams in the Top 10 of D1Softball's preseason poll.
- The Cougars played 10 teams that made a regional in 2021 and seven Power 5 opponents in 2022, facing those seven teams a total of 11 total times.
- The No. 1 seed has won three of the six completed American Softball Championship tournaments.
- The No. 2, 4, 5 and 7 seeds have never won the conference tournament.
- The No. 3 seed has won two of the conference tournaments.
