Award-winning leader previously served as head coach at Cameron University
HOUSTON – Houston Moore has joined the University of Houston Men's Golf program as assistant coach, Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke announced Monday.
Moore comes to the Cougars after serving the previous two seasons at Cameron University. Prior to that, he served for two years as the Men's and Women's Golf Head Coach at Ranger Junior College
"I would like to thank Jonathan Dismuke, Chris Pezman, Katina Jackson and the University of Houston for this opportunity. Houston is one of the most prestigious programs in college golf. Coach Dismuke has had a lot of success here, and there is a lot I can learn from him," Moore said. "As the fourth-largest city in the country, Houston is one of the great spots. There's so much going on in the Athletics Department and in the city. I cannot wait to get started."
"We are excited to have Houston join our program. He has a tremendous amount of experience as a head coach for his age and will step in immediately and get the ball rolling on the recruiting trail," Dismuke said. "Houston will be a great asset to our program for the years to come."

ABOUT HOUSTON MOORE
During the 2020-21 season, Moore led the Aggies to second-place finishes at the Jerry Hrnciar Invitational and Lion Invitational and a third-place showing at the Lone Star Conference Championships. In addition, Cameron student-athletes recorded two Top-Five finishes and six Top-10 showings.
Despite a shortened 2019-20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Aggies notched three top-5 finishes, and saw Tyler Kaman named the Lone Star Conference Newcomer of the Year and Devin Whipple named to the league's All-Academic team.
From 2017 to 2019, Moore saw the Ranger College programs flourish with the Women's team recording the first two wins in school history, the first individual win in school history, and the highest national Golfstat ranking at No. 4.
On the Men's side, he oversaw the school's second win in school history, a No. 1-ranked player in the country, a Top-6 team ranking, the best regional finish in school history and a sixth-place showing at the NJCAA National Championship.
A native of Burleson, Texas, Moore also coached a pair of All-Americans, two All-American Scholars, and led a team that had a program best scoring average of 286.4.
Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Moore was an award-winning student-athlete at LeTourneau University. During his collegiate playing career, he was a two-time team Player of the Year and served for two seasons as team captain.
He also set the LeTourneau record for most top-20 finishes in a season and recorded the fourth-best scoring average in school career history.
Moore graduated from LeTourneau University with a bachelor's degree in sports communication in 2016.
