Hill shines in Cougars 91-64 win over Texas A&M Commerce

HOUSTON - Behind a dominated performance from Tatyana Hill, the Cougars downed Texas A&M Commerce 91-64, Friday night at the Ferditta Center.

Team and Player Highlights:
Hill led all players with 20 points also adding fie rebounds and two steals. Tiara Young secured 12 points with four rebounds and four assists.
The Cougars outscored the Lions in the paint 60 to 26 while also support from the bench as Houston's bench contributed 52 points compared to TAMC's 30.

First Quarter
Tatyana Hill paced the Cougars early in the first quarter. Two straight buckets followed by a free throw gave the cougars a 5-1 lead. Houston closed out the quarter on an eight-point run cementing its lead by 12 points at 26-14.

Second Quarter
Hill continued to dominate in the second quarter, scoring two early baskets. The Cougars held a double-digit lead for the majority of the second quarter and closed out the half ahead 47-37.

Third Quarter
Houston came out firing in the third quarter, going on a 14-4 run widening the gap to 23 points. Fatou Diagne finished off the quarter with seven points and the Cougars closed the quarter 68-50.

Fourth Quarter
Despite trading points in the fourth, the Cougars secured the win 91-64 after quickly pulling ahead.

Houston continues is opening week of the 2021-22 season with its season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 9 against Howard. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT at the Fertitta Center with the game broadcast on ESPN+.
