Houston Soccer Prepares for Final Home Match of Regular Season

Cougars to honor senior Salma Ghazal for Senior Night
HOUSTON – Houston Soccer (11-4-2, 3-2-1 AAC) is set to play its last home match of the regular season against Cincinnati (6-6-3, 1-3-2 AAC) at the Carl Lewis International Complex at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Following a huge upset over No. 23 nationally-ranked Memphis on Thursday, the Cougars look to continue its climb and add another American Athletic Conference win to its record.
The Cougars currently rank fourth in The American conference rankings while the Bearcats rank eighth.
Houston will honor senior goalkeeper Salma Ghazal for Senior Night. Ghazal was unable to attend the original senior celebration due to playing for the Jordan National Team overseas in Uzbekistan.
The Houston Soccer program will also honor the life and memory of Cincinnati player Ally Sidloski who tragically passed away in May. Sidloski was known as a standout student and athlete for the Bearcats, as well as standout person and representative of the program.
SERIES HISTORY
Houston holds a 2-5-2 record against Cincinnati with the most recent matchup taking place in March resulting in a 1-0 OT Cincinnati win. The series began in 2002 with a large gap taking place before playing again in 2013.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will be away for the last game of its regular season schedule traveling to Tulsa for a 7 p.m. match on Thursday.
