Houston to Compete at Colin Montgomerie Invitational

SPRING, Texas – Three University of Houston Men's Golfers will compete as individuals at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational in a recent addition to the Cougars' spring schedule.
Senior George Gardner, junior Laurence Crea and senior Alex Isakson will tee off Monday morning at Augusta Pines Golf Club. The Cougars will play 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start each day on the 7,041-yard, par-71 course.
TEAM FIELD
The Cougar trio will face student-athletes from Abilene Christian, UT Rio Grande Valley, New Orleans, UIW, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin, McNeese, Weber State, Prairie View A&M, North Dakota, Midland College and host Houston Baptist.

THE LINEUP
Gardner ranks third on the team this season with a 72.40 scoring average and has added seven rounds of par or better. The Southlake, Texas, native has recorded four Top-20 finishes in 2019-20 with an eighth-place showing at the Bentwater Intercollegiate on Oct. 7-8, 2019.
Crea is in his first season with the Cougars after spending his first two years at Prairie View A&M. The Cypress, Texas, native has competed in three tournaments this season with a 10th-place finish at the Cougars' own All-American Intercollegiate at Golf Club of Houston on Feb. 16-18.
Isakson made his season debut at the All-American Intercollegiate, tying for 75th.
UP NEXT
Following the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, the Cougars will compete at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational at Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla., on March 16-17.
From there, the team will tee off at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., on April 4-5.
