Cougars record 3-1 victory over Cardinals
HOUSTON - Houston posted its second victory of the 2019-20 season Friday night at the Carl Lewis Complex, with a 3-1 decision over Incarnate Word.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- The Cougars would score every goal in the second half of the match.
- Reid Morrison would connect with a pass from Desiree Bowen to get Houston on the board with the first goal of the match.
- Madison Gear would find a pass from Natalie Anderson to notch the second goal of the match in the 60th minute.
- The final goal of the game would be scored in the 84th minute off of a header by Morgan Goode, following a pass from Mia Brascia.
- UIW would get on the board in the 85th minute after scoring off of a penalty kick.
- Koral Hughes played every minute in-goal for the Cougars, posting three saves.
- The Cougars outshot the Cardinals, 18-9.
OTHER NOTABLES
- Houston improves to 2-1-0 on the season and perfect at home.
- This marks the third consecutive home opening win for Bocanegra in his tenure at Houston.
- The Cougars own the all-time series with UIW, 3-0-0.
