Cougars host UIW and CSUN in home opening weekend
HOUSTON – The Cougars will kick things off at the Carl Lewis Complex when they host Incarnate Word on Aug. 30 and CSUN on Sep. 1.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
- UIW is entering its second season under Head Coach Emma Wright-Cates.
- The Cardinals closed out their 2018 slate with a 3-12-1 overall record, including a 3-7-1 finish in Southland Conference play.
- UIW returns 14 members of its 2018 squad, and welcomes eight newcomers this season.
SCOUTING THE MATADORS
- CSUN is entering its 14th season under Head Coach Keith West.
- The Matadors finished out their 2018 season with a 6-9-1 overall record, including a 2-6-0 finish in Big West Conference play.
- CSUN returns 18 letterwinners, including six starters, and welcomes 11 newcomers to the 2019-20 team.
UPCOMING PROMOTIONS
- Aug. 30 - "Youth Jersey Night"
- Fans ages 12 and under who wear their youth soccer jersey will receive free admission.
- Sep. 1 - "Kids Day"
- Fans ages 12 and under will receive free admission. Inflatables, Bounce House, etc. at the Carl Lewis Complex.
UP NEXT
Houston will take off for a two-match road stand at Cal State Fullerton (Sep. 6) and UC Riverside (Sep.8).
