
Houston Concludes Opening Day at Mt. Sac Relays

Cougars open meet with pair of top-three finishes
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Track & Field team started off three days of action at the Mt. SAC Relays with a pair of top-three finishes in the women's hammer throw.

Priscilla Adejokun and Mikaila Martin threw their way onto the medal stand after Adejokun finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 190-9.00 (58.15m). Following right behind was Martin as she threw a 190-9.00 (58.14m).
In the men's hammer throw, Felipe Valencia closed out the day with a sixth-place finish in the second flight of the event. Valencia's best throw came on his second attempt when he posted a mark of 158-01 (48.18m).
The Cougars will continue action tomorrow beginning at 1 p.m. CT with the men's collegiate 110-meter hurdles. The event will be highlighted by appearances from Quivell Jordan and Amere Lattin.
