Two Relay Squads Advance to Finals at Texas Relays

Men’s 4x100-meter relay and women’s 4x400-meter relay qualify to finals
AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Houston Track & Field men's 4x100-meter and women's 4x400-meter relay advanced to finals following their preliminary round action at Texas Relays on Friday inside Mike A. Myers Stadium.

The men's 4x100-meter relay of graduate Ryan Mulholland, junior Michael Onilogbo, senior Dakari Charlton and senior Louie Hinchliffe secured the fastest time of the day with a time of 39.21. The relay squad will compete in Saturday's final at 12:30 p.m. against Texas Tech, Fullerton, Harvard, Texas, Baylor, Kentucky, Clemson and Ohio State.

Freshman Kamree Wolridge, sophomore Carlysia Cresser, freshman Jada Stanford and junior Michaela Mouton won heat three of the women's 4x400-meter with a time of 3:36.23 to qualify for the final. The group will compete at 4:40 p.m., Saturday, against Texas, Kentucky, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Fullerton, West Texas A&M, North Texas, Lubbock Christian and Fresno Pacific.

Senior Kaycee McCoy earned her spot in the women's 100-meter hurdles final, finishing eighth overall with a time of 13.26. McCoy is set to compete at 2:12 p.m., Saturday.

Graduate Ryan Mulholland finished second in the men's 100-meter timed final with a wind-aided time of 10.30 (3.8 m/s).

On Thursday, junior Reagan Reedy won the women's javelin throw with a personal best mark of 45.66m. This marked Houston's third overall victory in the event, and first since 1982.
