Cougars visit Lake Charles, La., to close home-and-home series
HOUSTON -- The University of Houston Baseball team visits McNeese in a 6 p.m. first pitch at Miller Ballpark in Lark Charles, La., on Tuesday.
The game marks the end of the home-and-home series between the Cougars and Cowboys. Flipping the first game to Don Sanders Field at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park due to weather, Houston fell 13-5 to McNeese on Feb. 21.

SINGLES
• Houston is coming off a 3-1 week. The Cougars defeated UTSA, 4-2, on Tuesday at Don Sanders Field at Darryl and Lori Schroeder Park before taking two of three over the weekend at DBU.
• Houston's six-game win streak ended in an 8-4 decision to the Patriots on Sunday.
• On Monday, senior first baseman Joe Davis was named to The American Athletic Conference's Weekly Honor Roll. Davis, one week after being named the Player of the Week by The American and Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award, turned in a .308/.412/.769 slash, going 4-for-13 with two home runs, three walks, eight RBI and three runs scored. His home run on Sunday broke Houston's career total bases record set by Brandon Caraway (435, 1997-00) with 437.
• Davis leads The American and is tied for 11th in the nation in RBI (27) and 12th outright in slugging percentage (.809). The Austin native is also second in conference, tied for eighth in the NCAA, in home runs (8) and tied for seventh in batting average (.368).
• Junior third baseman Jared Triolo, who leads the team in walks (12) and runs scored (15), has reached base in all 18 games to start the season. However, his reached base safely streak ended at 12 games, reaching only on an error against Army on March 8. He is currently on a six-game reached safely streak, while Davis in on a nine-game streak.
• Junior Devon Roedahl leads The American in wins (3), with all coming out of the bullpen.
• Junior right-handed pitcher Fred Villarreal leads conference in ERA (1.23). He and Roedahl each are tied for fifth in saves (2).
• Villarreal co-led the nation with a 0.00 ERA through Houston's first 10 games. His streak without allowing an earned run to start the season ended at 13 and one-third innings with two runs surrendered against Rice on March 5.
• Senior designated hitter Rey Fuentes III was named to the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic All-Tournament Team on March 5. At the tournament, Fuentes III batted .300 with one double, one home run, one RBI and three runs scored. The homer, which came against Texas State on March 2, was the first of his career.
• Houston is batting .222 as a team and has a 4.26 ERA, compared to opponents' .241 average and 3.83 ERA.
ON McNEESE
• The Cowboys enter Tuesday with 12-8 record. McNeese is coming off a 2-2 week, falling to Tulane, 9-3, on Tuesday before bookending its series against Lamar with wins to open Southland Conference play.
• McNeese leads the Southland Conference and is tied for 18th in hits (209) and runs (154), and 19th in both walks (109) and stolen bases (12). The Cowboys also lead their league in home runs (19).
• Senior third baseman Carson Maxwell is tied for 11th nationally in RBI (27), while he (5), junior second baseman Nate Fisbeck (6) and junior outfielder Clayton Rasbeary (4) are second, third and fourth in the SLC in home runs, respectively.
• Senior outfielder Shane Selman, the Southland Conference's 2017 Hitter of the Year, leads the team in hits (28) and doubles (2).
• McNeese is batting .289 as a team and has a 5.18 ERA, compared to opponents' .242 average and 6.68 ERA.
• In 2018, McNeese finished 25-33 overall with a 15-15 mark in SLC play.
ON DECK
Following Tuesday, Houston returns to Don Sanders Field at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park hosting UConn to open American Athletic Conference play.

Gameday parking is offered in a different capacity than in prior years. Anyone entering Lot 16B (across the street from right field) will be subjected to paying a third party company employed by campus. This lot will no longer be an option for free parking on gamedays. All other lots surrounding the stadium will be free of charge two hours prior to first pitch.
