Cougars meet Mustangs for second time this season
HOUSTON – The Houston Cougar Women's Basketball team returns home Saturday to host SMU in an American Athletic Conference matchup at 2 p.m., inside the Fertitta Center.
Saturday's contest is highlighted by Alumni Weekend for the Houston women's basketball team. The Cougars will honor the alumni of the Houston women's basketball program and recognize those in attendance at halftime.

TAKE TWO – The Cougars are looking for their second straight regular-season sweep of the Mustangs under Head Coach Ronald Hughey.
CLEANING THE GLASS – Senior forward Serithia Hawkins has maintained a presence in the paint for Houston. Hawkins is averaging 7.5 boards per game, and is on pace to become only the third Cougars with 900+ boards.
FROM DOWNTOWN – The Cougars continue to be a 3-point threat under Hughey. After setting the school record for 3-pointers made in each of the last two seasons, Houston has made 143 triples so far in 2018-19.
THUNDER DOWN UNDER – Houston has become a threat in the paint, outscoring its opponents down-low in three of its last six contest.
H-TOWN LOCKDOWN – Houston continues to play lockdown defense this season. The Cougars have forced at least 15 turnovers in 19 of its last 20 games and their 21.55 forced per game ranks 18th nationally.
SERIES vs. SMU
Saturday's meeting will be the 59th all-time in the series against the Mustangs. Houston has won the last two contests in the series, including a 71-62 win on Jan. 9, 2019 in Dallas.

Houston's Jasmyne Harris paces the Cougars in points per game with 16.2 per contest, while Angela Harris also scores in double figures at 10.1 per night.
