Coogs for a Cure highlight meeting with Tulsa
HOUSTON – The Houston Cougar Women's Basketball team returns home Saturday to host Tulsa in an American Athletic Conference matchup at 2 p.m., inside the Fertitta Center.
Saturday's contest will serve as the Coogs' For A Cure game. The Cougars will honor all honor those affected by Breast Cancer and all fans are encouraged to wear pink.
Fans can hear the contest against the Golden Hurricane live via the home for Houston Women's Basketball Radio, UHCougars.com/wbbradio. Live statistics are also available through SideArm Stats, and the official Twitter account of Houston Women's Basketball, @UHCougarWBB, will offer updates throughout the game.

CHANGE OF LUCK – The Cougars look to break a two-game losing streak against the Golden Hurricane when they face them Saturday after falling to them twice last season.
CLEANING THE GLASS – Senior forward Serithia Hawkins has maintained a presence in the paint for Houston. Hawkins is averaging 7.3 boards per game and is on to pace to become only the third Cougar with 900+ rebounds.
FROM DOWNTOWN – The Cougars continue to be a 3-point threat under Hughey. After setting the school record for 3-pointers made in each of the last two seasons, Houston has made 130 triples so far in 2018-19.
WATCH OUT FOR HER – Junior Julia Blackshell-Fair has had a hot hand for the Cougars as of late and has scored in double figures in three straight games and is averaging 9.2 ppg., over the last five.
H-TOWN LOCKDOWN – Houston continues to play lockdown defense this season. The Cougars have forced at least 15 turnovers in 17 of its 18 games and their 22.41 forced per game ranks 12th nationally.
SERIES vs. TULSA
Saturday's meeting will be the 25th all-time in the series against the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa has won the last two meetings between the two, most recently a 98-72 victory in the opening round of the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
Houston enters Saturday's contest with a 9-9 overall record and a 3-2 mark in American Athletic Conference play after falling to Cincinnati on the road Wednesday in a 57-68 decision.
Houston's lone player averaging double figures is junior guard Jasmyne Harris whose 16.2 points per game paces the team. Angela Harris ranks second on the team with 10.4 points per game while Serithia Hawkins comes in at a close third with 9.2.
Houston is averaging 71.9 points per game on 40.4 percent shooting from the field and a 28.3 percent mark from beyond the 3-point line. The Cougars allow 70.7 points per game on defense while letting opponents shoot 42.2 percent and 30.6 percent from the field and beyond the arc, respectively.
Serithia Hawkins leads Houston on the glass, pulling down 7.3 rebounds per game. She recently became the sixth Cougar in program history to score 1,000 points and pull down 800 rebounds.
Houston has been one of the most active defensive teams in the country this season. The Cougars rank third in The American in steals (192), and second in steals per game (11.3) and turnovers forced per game (22.41). The Cougars' steal numbers rank 23rd and 24th in the nation, respectively, while the turnovers forced average places them 87thth in the NCAA.
