Cougars fall 2-0 to Ladyjacks in exhibition
HOUSTON – Houston got its first taste of 2018-19 action Sunday evening at the Carl Lewis Complex, falling 2-0 to Stephen F. Austin.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS
Houston will open its 2018 season on the road at Houston Baptist on Aug. 17, before visiting Lamar on Aug. 19. The match at HBU is slated for a 7 p.m. start time at Randy and Cheryl Sorrels Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stephen F. Austin scored the opening goal of the match in the first minute of the match. SFA notched its second goal inside the 53rd minute.
- 27 different Cougars saw action in the exhibition match, including three of the four goalkeepers on the 2018-19 roster.
- Mia Brascia led the team with five shots, four of which were on target.
- Desiree Bowen, Kaitlyn Wild and Julissa DePaoli each recorded two shots each, while seven other cougars each recorded one shot.
- Houston outshot the Ladyjacks 18-6, including 13 shots in the second half.
- The Cougars recorded three corner kicks, one more than SFA.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS
- The Houston Soccer program is excited to celebrate 20 years of Houston soccer this season. The team unveiled a logo on June 14 that represents 20 years of Houston soccer. The logo is featured on one of the three uniforms that the Cougars will wear throughout the season.
