ABOUT the COUGARS
The Cougars will send four golfers to compete as individuals -- sophomore Alan De Bondt, junior Emmett Oh, redshirt-freshman Matt Williams and sophomore Joshua Gibbons. With only four student-athletes competing in individual play, Houston will not be eligible for the team championship.
De Bondt has appeared in seven events this season for the Cougars and tied for second President's Day Challenge. He followed that up by shooting a career-best 214 in the All-American Intercollegiate.
Oh has appeared in eight events this season for the Cougars and tied for second in the President's Day Challenge. The Calgary, Alberta, native shot a career-best 66 in the Second Round of the OGIO Utah Invitational.
Williams' last appearance came in the Colin Montgomerie Invitational where he finished at 3-under-par 213 and tied for sixth, thanks to a career-best 68 in the First Round.
Gibbons has appeared in seven events this season for the Cougars. His best outing came in the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, where he tied for third after shooting a career-best 212, including a career-low 66 in the Second Round.
