Robledo Named The American Golfer of the Week

HOUSTON - After leading the Cougars at last weekend's event, University of Houston senior All-American Roman Robledo was honored Wednesday as the American Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week.
Robledo finished in a tie for 14th at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate with a 54-hole score of even-par 213. The Harlingen, Texas, native opened that tournament with sub-par rounds of 69-70 at Querencia Golf Club on the way to the 25th top-20 finish of his outstanding career.
With his performance, Robledo now leads the Cougars with a 73.25 scoring average and eight rounds of par or better, including four rounds in the 60s.
This was the third time in his career that Robledo has collected a conference weekly award.
UP NEXT
Following the Querencia Cabo Collegiate, the Cougars return to action when they play host to the Border Olympics on March 13-14 at Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas. A year ago the Cougars and Robledo swept the team and individual championships for the third straight tournament to open the spring season.
