HOUSTON - The University of Houston soccer program unveiled their spring schedule Monday which includes four tournaments around the city of Houston and one exhibition game at Texas A&M.
"Our schedule is comprised of games against strong local opponents that will be a good gauge to see where this team is heading into the summer and pre-season for next fall," said head coach Susan Bush.
"The team will begin group trainings Monday, January 31st. Everyone is excited to get on the field and continue building where we finished in the fall. This spring, we have two transfers who we are expecting to help us considerably. We also return most of the starting lineup and are going into the spring with more depth than any year yet at Houston."
Many student-athletes came together after the semester break and began training on their own but the first day of organized practice is still to come.
Houston will begin their spring slate at the Texas A&M 7v7 tournament in College Station, Texas on Feb. 6.
The Cougars have two weeks off before the Challenge Cup at Burroughs Park in Tomball, Texas begins Feb. 19.
Houston returns to College Station for a friendly against the Aggies on March 6.
The University of Houston Tournament, the spring highlight of the soccer program, kicks off March 26 at Carl Lewis Field.
From there, the Cougars wrap up their spring training with a tournament hosted by crosstown-rival Rice April 2.
