Cougars host Jayhawks at 2 p.m., Friday, and Cyclones at noon., Sunday
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Tennis team wraps their four-game homestand by welcoming #40 Kansas at 2 p.m., Friday, and #52 Iowa State at noon, Sunday, at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.
Admission is free for both matches. Action against Kansas and Iowa State can be seen on the live stream or by following live stats here.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
The Cougars enter the weekend 3-7 and are 0-4 in conference action. This weekend's matches against Kansas and Iowa State mark the fifth and sixth straight ranked opponents to open Big 12 play.
Fifth-year Santa Strombacha leads Houston with four singles wins on court one. Junior duo Gabriela Cortes and Sophie Schouten lead the Cougars with four wins in doubles including two against ranked pairs.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
Kansas
Kansas enters Friday's contest at 8-6 and 2-2 in conference play. The Jayhawks dropped their most recent matchup against #31 Arizona, 4-2 on Sunday.
Gracie Mulville leads the Jayhawks with eight singles wins on court one while Mulville and He Janse van Vuuren have nine doubles wins on court one.
Iowa State
Iowa State owns an 8-4 record and is 2-2 in conference play. The Cyclones dropped their last match to #26 Arizona State, 4-0, in Ames, Iowa.
Anna Kuearum paces the Cyclones with an 8-2 singles record including seven wins on court one.
Kuearum and Cristina Ramos Sierra lead the way in doubles with three wins on court one.

The Cougars fell to #15 Baylor, 4-0, on Sunday. After the Bears took court three in doubles, Cortes and Schouten picked up their second ranked doubles win of the season by knocking off #89 Sierra Berry and Na Dong on court two. Baylor clinched the doubles point on court one.
Baylor took courts four, two and three in singles to clinch the match.
