
McLeod Qualifies in Second Event for NCAA Championships

Sophomore secures qualification for NCAA Championships on Platform
IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Houston Swimming & Diving sophomore Michelle McLeod earned her second event qualification for the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships by finishing seventh on platform on Wednesday at the University of Iowa's Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.
The Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada, native completed the prelims in eighth with a score of 265.55 to advance to finals where she scored a 282.25 to move up a place and finish seventh with a combined score of 547.80.
McLeod will now compete at NCAAs on both the 3-meter and platform.
UP NEXT
Four member of the Houston Swimming & Diving team – freshman Lottie Cullen, Henrietta Fangli, McLeod and junior Virag Peter – will compete at the NCAA Championships held in Federal Way, Wash., from March 19-22.
Cullen will compete in the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes while Fangli qualified for the 100-yard breaststroke and Peter earned a spot in the 200-yard breaststroke.
