Leilani Augmon will miss 2-3 weeks of action following surgery
HOUSTON – University of Houston Women's Basketball redshirt senior guard Leilani Augmon will be sidelined for approximately two to three weeks after suffering a broken nose, the program announced on Friday.
"We are staying positive following Leilani's injury," Head Coach Ronald Hughey said. "We were hoping that she didn't need surgery, but it was required. We are praying that she has a successful surgery and can return to the court as soon as she is cleared."
Augmon broke her nose in the first quarter against Baylor (Jan. 17) and is expected to undergo surgery in the coming days.
Augmon's injury adds to Houston's injury woes this season. The Cougars lost three players to season-ending injuries, including senior forward Maliyah Johnson and senior guard Kateri Poole, both sidelined by ACL and lateral menisucs tears in October. Redshirt senior forward Avalon Miller suffered a torn Achilles during the season opener against UTRGV on Nov. 5.
