Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

Team receives fourth consecutive academic honor from American Volleyball Coaches Association
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Volleyball program earned the 2024 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced Wednesday. The award, sponsored by INTENT, recognizes programs that maintain a year-long grade-point average (GPA) of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale.Â

The recognition marks Houston's fourth consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award.Â

Twelve of the team's student-athletes earned Academic All-Big 12 honors, tying for the most honorees in the league. Six players also graduated during the 2023-24 academic year while three earned College Sport Communicators Academic All-District accolades.Â
