Cougars Announce 29 Match Campaign

Houston slated for 29 matches in 2026, 15 at home
HOUSTON – The entire 2026 Houston Volleyball schedule was unveiled on June 19 ahead of the Cougars fourth season in the Big 12 Conference with Houston set to play 29 total matches with 16 inside Fertitta Center.Â
Houston's 11 match non-conference schedule features seven matches inside Fertitta Center including a pair of non-conference matches against 2025 NCAA Tournament teams.

For the third consecutive year, the Cougars will begin their campaign on the road, playing Incarnate Word and Wake Forest to open the season in Baton Rouge, La. on Aug. 28 and 29, respectively.

The Cougars return to Houston to host the Houston Invitational Sept. 3-4. Houston's first home match is slated  against Texas Southern on Sept. 3 followed by an evening match against Abilene Christian the same day. Houston finishes the weekend in its first of two matches this fall against Houston Christian on Sept. 4. The Cougars conclude the four-match homestand with a midweek match against Lamar inside Feritta Center.

Houston travels overseas to the Bahamas to take on multiple 2025 NCAA Tournament participants in the inaugural Paradise Invitational. The Cougars open play against Elite 8 finisher Purdue on Sept. 12 and will face either Sweet 16 participant SMU or national runner-up Kentucky on Sept. 13.

The Flo Hyman Classic will take place Sept. 18-19 inside Fertitta Center when the Cougars return home from the Bahamas for their second two-match day against UTSA and Texas State on Sept. 18 and the program's second meeting at home against Houston Christian on Sept. 19 wrap up the Cougars' non-conference slate.

The Big 12 Conference unveiled Houston's league schedule in April with the Cougars set to face five 2025 NCAA Tournament teams inside Fertitta Center.
