Sooners clinch series win against the Cougars
NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Houston Softball team lost the middle game of a three-game set to #2/#2 Oklahoma, 10-2, in five innings at Love's Field on Saturday night.
Graduate Shelby Smith (10-10) suffered the loss in the circle as Houston moved to 23-22 on the season with a 3-17 mark in Big 12 play. Oklahoma improves to 41-4 (17-3 Big 12) as Nicole May (12-1) spun 4.1 innings.

Key Innings
1st | After loading the bases to start the game, Oklahoma took the lead as Kinzie Hansen drove home two with a single to right field. Kasidi Pickering followed it up with an RBI double in the next at-bat, while the Sooners plated another on a fielder's choice later in the inning to claim a four-run advantage after one.
3rd | Oklahoma struck again in the third as Pickering tripled home the first run of the inning. A single immediately after extended OU's lead to six and four additional runs would cross in the frame as the Sooners sustained a 12-batter rally in the inning.
4th | Houston fought back in the fourth. Junior Lair Beautae led off the inning with a single up the middle. Two batters later, Rollin cleared the right-center field seating at Love's Field with her 10th home run of the season to make the score 10-2.

Houston closes the series against Oklahoma with a 1 p.m., Sunday contest. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
