Swimming will head across town to the Rice Fall Splash while Diving hosts Houston Diving Invitational
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team kicks off its 2024-25 season with the Houston Diving Invitational and Rice Fall Splash on Friday and Saturday.

Diving plays host for the Houston Diving Invitational at CRWC Natatorium with Rice, Little Rock and North Texas competing at the Invitational. Swimming, meanwhile, heads across town to the Rice Competition Pool for the Rice Fall Splash, battling Rice and Little Rock throughout the weekend.Â

2023-24 RECAP
The Cougars claimed a second-place finish in their inaugural Big 12 Conference season, earning 1,266.5 at the five-day meet. Eleven student-athletes captured 17 all-conference honors with then-freshman Michelle McLeod leading the way with a third-place finish in the platform diving competition.Â

Three Cougars clinched berths to the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga. McLeod (platform), Chase Farris (3-meter, platform) and Henrietta Fangli (100-, 200-yard breaststrokes) all earned a trip to the Championships. Fangli earned Second Team All-America honors for Houston with a 14th-place finish in the 100 Breast.

PARIS OLYMPICS
A pair of Cougar swimmers represented their country at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Elizabeth Jimenez swam for Dominican Republic while Alondra Ortiz swam for Costa Rica. Ortiz took 18th in the 200-meter butterfly (2:18.56) while Jimenez finished 33rdin the 100-meter backstroke (1:04.99).

NEWCOMERS
Houston welcomed nine newcomers to the team this year. Elizabeth Benoit, Sienna Bruner, Mariana Cote, Lottie Cullen, Alexandra Curcan, Kristina DiPietro, Caroline Roelen, Regina Torres Pomar and Kaeli White all will make their debuts with Houston this season.Â
