Soccer Announces Inaugural Big 12 Conference Schedule

Cougars set to open Big 12 action against Texas Tech on Sept. 14
HOUSTON – Ten home matches, including home contests against UCF, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Texas and Baylor, highlight University of Houston Soccer's inaugural Big 12 Conference schedule, the league office announced Monday.

Times and television broadcast information for all matches will be released at a later date.

The 10-match conference slate includes four contests against opponents that earned bids to the 2022 NCAA Tournament. Among those are NCAA Sweet 16 participant TCU as well as UCF, West Virginia and Texas.Â

Of the 10 opponents, Houston will face Iowa State, West Virginia, Kansas and Kansas State for the first time in program history.

Second-year Head Coach Jaime Frias and the Cougars open Big 12 action Sept. 14 against Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas.

The Cougars will then return to the friendly confines of the Carl Lewis International Complex to host UCF in Houston's league home opener Sept. 21 followed by Oklahoma on Sept 24.Â

After coming off the road against Iowa State on Sept. 28, Houston opens the month of October back at home against West Virginia on Oct. 1.

Houston will then embark on a three-match road swing against Kansas State on Oct. 5, Kansas on Oct. 8 and will close out the regular season road slate against TCU on Oct. 12 in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Cougars return to the Carl Lewis International Complex to close their inaugural Big 12 regular-season slate against two in-state opponents. Houston will first take on Texas on Oct. 15 and closes out the regular season against Baylor on Oct. 23.Â

The top 10 teams will then advance to the Sprouts Farmers Market Big 12 Soccer Championship from Oct. 28-Nov. 4 in Round Rock, Texas. The NCAA Tournament is slated to begin with First-Round action Nov. 10-12 while the 2023 NCAA Women's College Cup is scheduled for Dec. 1-4 in Cary, N.C.

Individual season tickets will be available to purchase for only $42 with family plans (four season tickets) starting at $100. Â
