Cougars’ schedule features four matches against 2022 NCAA Tournament participants
HOUSTON – University of Houston Soccer Head Coach Jaime Frias has announced the Cougars' spring schedule, which begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4 in San Antonio against UTSA from the Park West Athletics Park.
The slate includes opponents from the Big 12 Conference, SEC, Conference USA and Southland Conference. All home matches at the Carl Lewis International Complex are free of charge and open to the public.
"The spring is an important part of our annual plan as we look to develop the team and our players for success in the fall," Frias said. "It's a time where we can take a deep dive into each player's individual development as well as enhance our team's principles of play.
Â
"We've put together a challenging schedule to help us track our development that includes four NCAA tournament participants. From a physical standpoint, we're able to dedicate time enhancing our team's speed, explosiveness, strength and coordination. We look forward to the unique challenges each team will bring on match day."
The Cougars will begin the season in San Antonio on Saturday, March 4 at 2 p.m., against 2022 Conference USA Champions, UTSA, from the Park West Athletics Complex.
