Cougars will send six women to two different meets for final tune up

HOUSTON – The Houston track and field team has added two meets to its final week of the indoor season before the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships and will send a total of six women student-athletes to the two meets. One thrower will go to the Matador Qualifier at Texas Tech and five will go to the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, Ark.

STARTING LINE NOTES

This is Houston's final weekend of competition before the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.
Only six student-athletes will be competing on Friday, all women.
Iman Babineaux, Kelly-Ann Beckford, Comari Hawkins, Linesha Thompson and Sydni Townsend are the five Cougars represented at the Arkansas Qualifier.
Graduate Priscilla Adejokun will go to the Matador Qualifier in the weight throw as Houston's lone competitor at the meet.
Beckford broke her own school record at the Tyson Invitational, running 2:04.63, finishing second by 0.01 seconds and still ranks first in the conference.
Babineaux's season-best 400-meter dash time is Houston's fastest time this season in the event and sixth in the American.
This is Townsend's first competition of the season.
