Houston Divers Compete in Day 1 of NCAA Diving Zones

Cougars earn spot in 1-Meter finals
MADISON, Wisc. – Jolie Blodgett, Katie Deininger, Hedda Grelz and Emilia Waters competed in the 1-Meter at the 2022 NCAA Zone D Championships at the Soderhold Aquatic Center on the campus of University of Wisconsin.
Deininger and Grelz placed among the top 20 finishers of the event. Deininger advanced to the final of the 1-Meter after posting a six-dive scoring total of 269.80 in the prelims. In the final, Deininger finished in 18th-place with a total score of 538.65.
Grelz finished in 19th (261.85), just 1.30 points shy of qualifying to finals. Waters placed 22nd with 254.40 points. Blodgett finished the day for the Cougars placing 38th with 222.25 points.
Action resumes Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the 3-Meter with Deininger, Grelz and Waters competing again, alongside Chase Farris and Josie Graves. Meet will be streamed here and live results can be accessed by clicking here.
The top-11 finishers in the 3-Meter will advance to the 2022 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships, March 16-19 in Atlanta at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center.
