Houston falls to USF in regular-season finale

The Cougars dropped a Wednesday night contest 71-38 to USF
TAMPA, Fla. – Houston fell to South Florida 73-38 on Wednesday night in its regular-season finale in the Yuengling Center.
Julia Blackshell-Fair led the Cougars with eight points while Tatyana Hill contributed 10 rebounds.
First Quarter
The Cougars put up two early baskets to tie the game at four-all, but an 11-0 scoring run quickly put the Cougars down 15-4. Two free throws gave Houston two points but the quarter ended 17-6.
Second Quarter
The Cougars continued to struggle as single baskets broke up scoring runs for the Bulls. Houston strung together six points at the end of the quarter but the Cougars went into halftime down 49-16.
Third Quarter
Houston scored its highest points in a quarter in the third putting up 13 points to nearly double its first-half score. But, USF forged ahead going into the fourth, 59-29.
Fourth Quarter
The Bulls ultimately put the game away in the fourth as Houston was only able to contribute nine points to its score and the game ended 71-38.
