Houston Prepares for Weekend Full of Tennis

Cougars face Gonzaga, Florida Atlantic for first time in program history
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Tennis program returns to action with two matches this weekend beginning on Friday against Gonzaga, followed by a trip to south Florida, against Florida Atlantic.
Houston (6-6) looks to continue its success at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility at 10 a.m. on Friday against the Bulldogs. Fans can attend free of charge and no student ticket claim will be necessary.
The Cougars are currently 6-0 at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility with wins against Louisiana Monroe, Southern, Prairie View A&M, Lamar, UTSA and Northwestern State.
Houston will then travel to Boca Raton, Florida, at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday to face the Owls at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center.
This will be the first time in program history that the Cougars face both Gonzaga and FAU.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Cougars will return for a three-match homestand, beginning with a doubleheader on Thursday, March 17 at 10 a.m. against Binghamton, followed by a 2 p.m. matchup against McNeese.
Houston will wrap up action at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility for the season at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 19 against Tulane for Senior Day.

- The Owls are 8-6 on the season.
- In their last matchup, FAU swept Butler in a 7-0 decision.
- This will be the first time in program history that Cougars face the Owls.
