Cougars meet Aggies at 7 p.m., in Coaches vs. Racism HBCU Roundball Classic inside the Fertitta Center
HOUSTON – University of Houston Men's Basketball program wraps up its season-long, three-game homestand when it plays host to North Carolina A&T at 7 p.m., Tuesday, in the Coaches vs. Racism HBCU Roundball Classic inside the Fertitta Center.
#5/4 Houston enters Tuesday's game following a tough, 71-65 loss to #8/10 Alabama inside the Fertitta Center on Saturday afternoon. Junior point guard Jamal Shead led all players with 19 points and added seven rebounds with three assists and a pair of steals in front of a Fertitta Center-record crowd of 7,718.
Sophomore guard Tramon Mark finished with 10 points with two rebounds as the Cougars saw their nine-game winning streak to open the 2022-23 season come to an end.
This season, senior guard Marcus Sasser leads the Cougars and ranks seventh in the American Athletic Conference with 16.1 points per game. Mark stands second on the team with 10.1 points per contest.
Junior forward J'Wan Roberts is a close third with 9.8 points per game but leads the Cougars with 7.1 rebounds per game. Freshman forward. Jarace Walker averages 9.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for Houston.
Tuesday's game will be the first meeting against the Aggies since the 2011-12 season and only the second contest in school history.

Tuesday's game will be the first game in the Coaches vs. Racism HBCU Roundball Classic.
Following Tuesday's game, the action continues with a doubleheader on Saturday inside James E. Delmar Fieldhouse. The twinbill begins with Prairie View A&M facing Montana at 11:50 a.m., with Jackson State meeting Texas Tech at 3 p.m., Saturday.
