Cougars post a 2-1 conference record as they head to Philadelphia
HOUSTON – The women's basketball team looks to bounce back as it travels to Temple for a Saturday matchup in Philadelphia.

COVID PROTOCOLS. Patrons will need to show their COVID vaccination card (either physical card or picture on their phone) or proof of a negative test within 24 hours of entry to attend the game at McGonigle. Saturday's game will be 90's Day for all fans in attendance.
SCOUTING THE OWLS. The Owls currently hold a 6-6 record with a 1-0 mark in conference play after beating Cinncinnati on January 8th. Temple has had four of the last five games postponed and has not played since its game on January 8th as well as not playing on their home court since December 11th. Against Cincinnati, forwards Mia Davis and Alexa Williamson led the way, both scoring more than 20 points for Temple.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK. Laila Blair was named American Player of the Week for the first time on Monday. Blair was a two-time Freshman of the Week last season before being named All-Freshman team.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE. The Cougars are currently 6-0 when playing at home. The streak started with the exhibition against Texas A&M Commerce and then tallied home wins against Howard, New Mexico, Jacksonville State, Louisiana and most recently Tulsa. Temple holds a 2-4 record when playing at home while the Cougars also stand at 2-4 on the road after Tuesday's loss to UCF.
CONFERENCE PLAY. The Cougars recorded its first conference loss against leading UCF on Tuesday after beating Wichita State and Tulsa. The Cougars dropped in the American stands after its loss to the Knights but Houston is only one of three teams that has played three games.
THE SERIES. Temple hold the advantage over the Houston as the Cougars have a 4-11 record. However, the Cougars beat the Owls by more than 30+ points each time.
AGAINST UCF. Britney Onyeje finished the game with 20 points including a career-high five treys. She led the Cougars (9-6, 2-1) in scoring while also adding three rebounds, two assists and three steals. Bria Patterson also contributed 11 points and four rebounds to go with two steals.
