Cougars play away against USF in Tampa
HOUSTON – Houston Soccer (9-1-1) will travel to Tampa to take on USF (7-2-1) for its second American Athletic Conference test of the season.
The Cougars began conference play at home earlier this month by defeating UCF 1-0 at the Carl Lewis International Complex. Since the conference opener, Houston has played two non-conference matches before resuming its conference schedule this week.
Â
With a successful season thus far, the program has seen its players gain recognition in the national rankings. Goalkeeper Mikaela Gracia is currently tied for a fifth-place standing for her efforts in the net which have resulted in six total shutouts. Fellow teammate Zionah Browne is also posted on the national leaderboard tied for 11th with seven assists.
Â
Houston is coming into Thursday with a recent 8-1 home-field defeat of Arkansas Pine Bluff under its belt. The Cougars will not be back at the Carl Lewis International Complex until Oct. 10 for a Sunday 12 p.m. match against conference opponent ECU.
